United Faith Christian Academy is a Christian college-preparatory school for children in kindergarten to 12th grade that was founded in 1985. Its two-building facility is located in Charlotte, NC. The school is affiliated with United Faith Assembly of God and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. The theme for the 2008-2009 school year is "...be the blessing" from I Peter 3:8-9 NLT.

Academics

United Faith has been expanding academic programs in recent years, adding Advanced Placement courses in 2008. As of 2009, AP Calculus and AP Literature are being taught by trained teachers. Also, in the foreign language department, Spanish and Chinese are offered to students. The Science Department is equipped with a lab for Chemistry and another lab for Biology and Anatomy. Bible classes are a requirement each year for a student to be permitted to graduate. In the History Department, United Faith employs a retired FBI agent to supply the students with knowledge of the subject.

Athletics

United Faith encourages sportsmanship in all athletic performances. United Faith is a member of the SPAA conference and offers many different sports throughout the year for students. In the fall, girls may participate in volleyball or cross-country while boys may play soccer or also run cross-country. Winter sports include girls' and boys' basketball and cheerleading. In the spring, United Faith offers girls' softball and soccer and boys' baseball and co-ed golf.

Historically, the football team has been average at best. The only sustained period of success occurred during the 2001-2003 seasons under the leadership of head coach David Riggs, and All-State wide receiver and cornerback Chris Mason, who went on to play football at Catawba College after setting the SPAA records for career touchdowns (43), interceptions (19) and career all-purpose yards with 8,751.

Recently, under Coach Shaun Wiseman, the Varsity Boys' basketball team has excelled in the state. In 2008, the team finished runners up in the state tournament. Coming back strong in the 2008-2009 season, the team won the NCISAA 1A State Championship. Also in the 2008-2009 season, the Varsity Girls' basketball team was invited to the state tournament. This was the first time in United Faith's history that the girls' basketball team participated in a state tournament game. The Varsity volleyball team has also participated in the state tournament for several years.
